We are pleased to announce that Cosimo Pacciani, former Chief Risk Officer of the European Stability Mechanism, will join Algebris as Group Chief Operating Officer from 11th November 2019. Based in the London office he will report to Davide Serra, CEO and Alex Lasagna in his new role as Deputy CEO.

Cosimo brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial industry and a unique focus on operational, compliance and risk matters.

Before his experience at the ESM, he spent 11 years working for Royal Bank of Scotland in several risk and compliance-related roles. Notably, he was the Head of Risk and Compliance for the Asset Protection Scheme, where he helped to manage, with success, one of the most complex financial bail-outs of the financial crisis.

He holds a BA from the Faculty of Economics of Florence and a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of Siena.

He is an Italian national and has spent all of his working career in London. We are delighted to have him on board and look forward to him starting his new role.
