Biagio Izzo
Biagio joined Algebris in 2026 as Head of Tax.
Biagio joins Algebris after 10 years at Maisto e Associati, where he specialised in tax law. He began his career at Chiomenti, one of Italy’s leading full-service law firms, where he developed a strong foundation in tax law.
He graduated in Law from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome in 2011 and holds a Master’s Diploma in Tax Law from Il Sole 24 Ore Business School in 2014. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2015.
Biagio is also active in the professional community. He serves as Vice President of the STEP Italy Special Interest Group on Cross-Border Estates and coordinates STEP Italy’s monthly tax alert. He is a regular speaker at conferences and has authored numerous publications on Italian tax law.
Outside work, Biagio enjoys art and cooking and loves spending time outdoors, from hiking with his Irish setter to snowboarding and scuba diving.
