Valerio Camerano

Managing Director

Valerio Camerano is Managing Director at Algebris Investments, where he leads the new Business Unit dedicated to the energy and environment transition and is overseeing the launch of a private equity fund dedicated to the green transition. Working alongside the investment teams at Algebris Investments, he is currently focusing on the Italian market, with a view to expanding the investment offering and scope in the future.
Valerio has gained major experience in the infrastructure, energy and environmentally-focused industries during his career. From 2014 to 2020, he was CEO of A2A Group, one of the prominent players in the Italian utilities and renewable energy industries. Before that, he held similar roles for over 10 years at Engie, Enel and Camuzzi and worked 10 years in the financial sector for Citibank.
He is also an independent member of the COIMA ESG City Impact Fund Steering Committee, Business Angel for Start Up and Professor at Luiss University in Rome.
Valerio graduated cum laude in Economics, Financial Engineering and Corporate Finance, at LUISS University in Rome. He attended an Executive Program at INSEAD. He is a passionate photographer, loves jazz, enjoys trekking and wines.

Emanuele Tomasi

Investment Manager

Emanuele joined Algebris in 2022 to support the green transition private equity strategy.

Prior to joining Algebris, Emanuele has been a member of the investment teams of Italian and pan-European private equity funds since 2011. In particular, Emanuele worked with Ambienta, a pioneer company in investment strategies focusing on environmental macro trends, Palladio Holding and Argos Wityu.

Emanuele graduated from Bocconi University with a Master of Science in Finance in 2012, and he completed the INSEAD’s International Directors Programme in 2021. Emanuele is a sailing and art enthusiast.

Francesco Becchelli

Investment Director

Francesco joined Algebris in 2021 to support the expansion of the firm into real assets in the energy sector.
Previously, Francesco was Head of M&A, Business Development and Innovation of A2A, a FTSE MIB-listed utility.
Between 2013 and 2015 Francesco was CFO of Leone Film Group, a media company listed on the Italian AIM. Before this, Francesco spent 13 years at Credit Suisse and Lazard covering energy sector. He started his career in Ernst&Young in 1998.
Francesco graduated summa cum laude in Economics and Business Administration University of Verona and in 2013 attended the 134 class of Senior Executive Program at Columbia University. He lives in Milan with his wife and a son, is a keen cyclist and loves skiing.

Marco Turchini

Investment Director

Marco started working with Algebris in 2021 to support the Green Strategy from a technology standpoint.

Marco comes from more than 15 years of experience in innovation gained at first tier consulting firms, two entrepreneurial endeavors and corporate management positions. In last years Marco was Chief Innovation Officer at A2A group, Chief Executive Officer at A2A Smart City and served as senior advisor for a top EU Venture Capital firm with a focus on cleantech technologies.

Marco, a PhD in Supply Chain Management and a MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management, shares a deeply rooted passion for sailing and lives in Milan with his children Anna and Cosimo and his wife Eugenia.

Maria Sole Bozzi

Maria Sole Bozzi

Associate

Maria Sole joined Algebris Investment Team in 2018, where she is also Chief of Staff to Group CEO, Davide Serra. She obtained a First Class degree in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, is a CFA charter holder.

Since high school, Maria Sole has been volunteering with children affected by leukemia. In her free time she loves skiing and kite-surfing, she is also very passionate about golf and has attended several championships at national level.

Matteo Tarchi

Investment Director

Matteo joined Algebris in 2021 to support the expansion of the firm into real assets in the energy sector.
Previously, Matteo was CEO of A2A Rinnovabili, renewable generation subsidiary of A2A, a FTSE MIB-listed utility.
Matteo spent 13 years at French CAC40 utility Engie, where he covered various positions among which CEO of GDFSUEZ Rinnovabili and head of strategy and business development of Engie Italia Spa.  Previously he worked as project developer for Mirant Inc., a US based Independent Power Producer.
Matteo has MSc in energy engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He lives in Milan and has a daughter. He loves diving and running.

Riccardo Abate

Private Equity Analyst

Riccardo joined Algebris in 2022 as analyst of the Green Transition Fund.
He has previous working experience in the Investment Banking sector in London.

Riccardo obtained a Master of Science in Finance at the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Science in International Economics and Finance at Bocconi University.

Riccardo is a Fencing athlete and has represented the Italian National Team in several national and international competitions.

Riccardo Peria

Green Transition Strategy Associate

Riccardo joined the Algebris Investments team in 2021 to support the expansion of the firm into private equity investments dedicated to the green transition.

Previously, Riccardo was an Analyst in Argos Wityu, a pan-European private equity firm focused on mid-market majority LBOs. Before that, he gained experience in London in the field of M&A and Derivatives, and he graduated with distinction from ESCP Europe Master in Management.

In the Green Transition Fund, Riccardo and the team aim to act as a springboard to help companies grow to their hidden potential and pave the way toward a more sustainable society. This is what fuels Riccardo’s passion.

In his free time, he enjoys discovering natural beauties and trekking with friends.

Stefano Sostero

Investment Director

Stefano joined Algebris in 2023 to support Algebris Green Transition Fund.

Stefano was Partner at Hope Sicaf and previously co-head of Muzinich & Co Italian team. Among other roles, he was Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Crédit Agricole Private Equity and previously spent 9 years at CVC Capital Partners focused on investing in the Italian market and on cross-border European deals. He began his career as an analyst at Interbanca.

Stefano earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Università Commerciale L. Bocconi.

Stefano lives in Milan with his wife and two daughters. He loves travelling, cinema and skiing and enjoys running.

Tommaso Capra

Private Equity Analyst

Tommaso is a Private Equity analyst.
He joined Algebris in 2023 as intern in the NPL investment team, before joining the Green Transition Fund.

He completed the BSc in Management at ESCP Business School, and he is currently finalizing the Master’s degree in Finance at Bocconi University.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sports, but has a particular passion for football and tennis.
