Founder, CEO & CIO
Davide is Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Algebris.
Davide was Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he headed the European Banks Research Team and was the Global Banks team coordinator. Davide was rated individually among the top European banks analysts for the period 1999-2006. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Davide worked in the top rated UBS Banks research team as a senior analyst (1995-2000).
Davide is recognised as one of the World’s leading experts on financial services, he is often consulted by the World’s Central Bankers and Regulators on policy matters and he regularly contributes to the discourse on financial reform. Furthermore, Davide has been awarded the Commander designation, a decoration of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
He is Chairman and Trustee of the Hakuna Matata foundation, a registered UK charity which he founded with his wife in April 2010. The primary focus of the foundation’s work is assisting orphaned children in Central Tanzania.
Davide is a graduate cum laude of Bocconi University in Italy and holds a Master CEMS. He speaks Italian and is fluent in English and French. Davide played volleyball professionally in Italy from 1985 and 1990 and reached Series A1. He enjoys Alpinism in the Alps and Sailing around the World.
Macro Credit, Global
Aditya Aney, CFA joined Algebris in 2016 as a co-portfolio manager for the Algebris Macro Credit Fund. Aditya focuses primarily on emerging market sovereign, bank and corporate debt.
Aditya was previously a macro analyst at RBS’ macro credit research team. Prior to research and since 2011, Aditya worked in trading and risk management, also focusing on emerging markets.
Aditya holds an MSc in Operational Research from the London School of Economics and has passed all three levels of the CFA programme. He studied in the UK and India.
Macro Credit, Global
Alberto joined Algebris in April 2016 as partner, assuming both research and portfolio management responsibilities launching the Algebris Macro Credit fund, a global strategy investing in bonds, credit and equities.
Prior to Algebris, Alberto was Managing Director and Head of Global Macro Credit Research at RBS (2011-2016). His team climbed to the top rankings in Institutional Investor’s All-Europe Fixed Income survey for Investment Grade, High Yield Research and Fixed Income Strategy, for four years running. Previously, Alberto was a macro strategist at Goldman Sachs in New York (2007-2011) and previously he was at Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch in London (2004-2007), where he co-authored some of the early research on the credit derivatives market.
Alberto serves in the ECB and ESMA working groups on macro-financial stability and as an advisor to other central banks and policymakers. He contributes to the Financial Times, Bloomberg View and the World Economic Forum.
He graduated two years ahead of the norm with a MSc in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University, cum laude (2000-2004), where he is now a guest lecturer on macroeconomics. Previously, he served in the Navy, leading the 1997-2000 cadet class at the “F. Morosini” naval academy. He is a CFA charterholder.
Alessandro joined Algebris in 2018 as a Quant Analyst and is now a Trader.
Prior to Algebris and since 2013, he worked at QW Capital LLP, a London-based independent asset manager where he helped developing proprietary algorithms and a quant equity market neutral strategy based on mean reversion.
He holds a MSc in Finance and Investment from CASS Business School in London. Originally from Rome, he holds a degree in Business Administration from University of Rome (where he majored in Economics and Finance) and put his finance and accounting skills at the service of local charities.
In his free time he enjoys playing football and travelling.

Bruno joined Algebris in 2019, focusing on financial credit.
He began his career as a European Banks Equity Research analyst at Schroders Salomon Smith Barney (1998-2004) before moving to Fox-Pitt Kelton, a specialist equity boutique broker focused on the financial sector (2004-2006). In order to complement his equity experience, Bruno decided to join Barclays Capital in 2006; his role involved covering European financials on the bank’s credit trading desk over a period which spanned the global financial crisis.
Bruno moved to the buy side in 2012 with Claren Road Asset Management, a US-based hedge fund owned by the Carlyle Group, where he was a Managing Director focused across the entire capital structure of European financials. Prior to joining Algebris, in 2016 Bruno took on the role of portfolio manager at Copper Street Capital, a start-up dedicated global financials fund which won EuroHedge’s Event Driven category in 2017.
Bruno holds a MSc in International Securities and Investment Banking from the ISMA Centre (1998), a BA Hons (First Class) in Economics and Business from the University of Stirling (1997), as well as being a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Macro Credit, Global
Gabriele Foà joined Algebris in 2019 as a co-portfolio manager for the Algebris Macro Credit Fund.
Previously, he spent four years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London as an Emerging Markets strategist. His team has been #1 ranked in Emerging EMEA economics and strategy for four consecutive years.
Gabriele holds a Ph.D in Economics from Yale University, where he specialized in macroeconomics and finance. While in the US, he held positions within the Global EM Strategy team at BAML and at Roubini Global Economics, both in New York.
He graduated from Bocconi University in 2009. Gabriele lives in London with his wife, son and daughter. His all-time passion is football.
Italian Securities, Italy
Gabriele joined Algebris in 2019, first as intern and later as analyst, with a focus on Italian Equity.
Gabriele holds a BSc in Business Administration and a Master in Banking & Finance from Università Cattolica di Milano.
Gabriele played golf at competitive level for many years, attending several National competitions. He is also a very passionate guitar player, holding a Music certification from the Trinity College of London.

Giancarlo joined Algebris in 2014 as an analyst. He is currently supporting the credit investment team from the London office.
Prior to joining Algebris Giancarlo worked in the equity research team for Deutsche Bank in Milan.
Giancarlo holds an MSc in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. An Italian native, he also speaks fluent English. Outside of work Giancarlo is a keen off-piste skier and enjoys sailing and climbing.
Gianluca joined Algebris in 2018 as Portfolio Manager. Before joining Algebris, Gianluca was Head of Global Investment Strategy and Insurance in UniCredit International Bank (Luxembourg). He started his career in UniCredit Group in 2007 where he covered different positions (amongst others: Market Analyst and Portfolio Manager) in a business tailored for HNWIs.
Gianluca holds a Ph.D. in Banking and Finance from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, a post graduate diploma in Financial Mathematics from Cass Business School of London and a Master’s in Economics from LUISS Guido Carli of Rome.
Gianluca is a sailor. He likes “andar per mare” and regattas. He was a professional skipper and he was a sailing instructor for children. He was actively involved as volunteer in inclusive organizations that are using the sea (and sailing) to help children with different abilities and persons with mental health problems.
Italian Securities, Italy
Luca joined Algebris in 2017 to develop our expertise in the Italian equity market.
Prior to this, he was CIO of Zenit SGR where he also directly managed funds focused on Italian stocks.
Before 2008, he covered the role of Equity Fund Manager for both Capitalia Asset Management and Fondicri SGR, with lead responsibility for investments in the Italian equity market. He started his career in the Finance department of Banca Popolare di Sondrio.
Luca graduated com Laude in Economics and Business Administration University of Rome La Sapienza, Italy. He lives in Rome with his wife and daughter. He loves skiing, sailing, mountain biking and has a passion for motorbikes.

Mark joined Algebris at the initiation of the firm in 2006.
His coverage universe currently comprises all US and Canadian financials. Prior to joining Algebris, Mark worked at Wellington Management in Boston where he was responsible for research on global life insurance and international bank equities. He had previously worked in Wellington’s Equity Product Management group, with a focus on global growth and small cap portfolios.
Mark is a CFA charter holder and holds a BA, magna cum laude, in History and Political Science from Williams College. He recently joined the board of trustees at Kingswood-Oxford School in Connecticut, and volunteers at Capitol Squash, a joint squash/academic program for inner-city kids in Hartford.
Mark lived for seven years in London with his wife, Kim, and is now a dual US/UK citizen. They moved back to the US in 2013 and launched the Boston office for Algebris shortly thereafter. Mark and Kim have two children, Caroline and Andrew.
Rich joined Algebris in 2015 as a trader.
He previously worked for JPMorgan in the global credit markets division, most recently in emerging markets credit and prior to that in securitised products. He worked in both London and New York having joined the company on the global markets graduate program.
Rich is a keen sportsman, he played rugby 7s at a high level, and has played on 6 continents. He continues to play club rugby in London. He also enjoys playing polo in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Sebastiano joined Algebris in 2012 as investment analyst covering credit opportunities and he now is credit Portfolio Manager.
Sebastiano holds an MSc magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Padua University, Italy, and is a CFA charter holder.
Sebastiano was a professional Alpine Ski athlete, ranking within top 150 athletes globally in Giant Slalom and participating in the European Cup circuit. He lives in London with his wife and daughter.

Simon joined Algebris in 2015 as PM for public equity strategies with lead responsibility for investments in Europe and EMEA.
has more than 20 years experience in the financial sector. Before joining
Algebris, Simon was a global equity financials PM at PIMCO. He also ran a
global long/short financials fund at Gartmore/Henderson for 8 years and has
previously worked for the sovereign wealth fund GIC, Government of Singapore
Investment Corp, where he ran financial portfolios.
Simon is a CFA charter holder, a qualified accountant (ACA), and holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Exeter, UK. Simon is married to a French lady and has three young boys who are approaching their teenage years. Weekends are packed with playing a range of sports from tennis and swimming to shooting. Holidays are invariably in France with a huge extended family and a little bit of on-piste skiing every year.

Simone joined Algebris in 2019 to strengthen our coverage of the Italian equity market.
Prior to this, he spent 5 years in Amundi as senior equity analyst on long-only pan-European Small Caps strategies with particular focus on Italian, German and Nordics markets as well as on long/short product. Previously, Simone spent over 10 years as sell side equity analyst in MainFirst, UBI, UBS and Cheuvreux.
Simone graduated in Business Administration at Bocconi University in Milan. An Italian native, he also speaks English and Polish.
Since high school, Simone has been volunteering in different projects in Benin and Ethiopia. He is a blood donator since 2004.
He lives in Milan with his wife and son. He is a proud soccer referee and he loves playing tennis, swimming, reading and rock&roll music.
AI & Big Data
Tao heads the AI and Big Data research team. She joined Algebris as a macro analyst and portfolio manager for the Algebris Macro Credit Fund in June 2016.
Tao started her career as a research analyst at RBS’ macro credit research team in 2013.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge and is completing a Master’s of IT in Business from the Singapore Management University. She is a CFA charter holder.

Varun joined Algebris in May 2019 to cover financials with a focus on Europe and Asia, working closely with our equity and credit specialists.
He was previously an investment analyst at Astellon Capital Partners, a London-based hedge fund management company. Before that he was an associate at Matlin Patterson, a New York-based distressed private equity firm. Varun started his career in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers in New York, in the Financial Institutions Group.
Varun holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BSc (cum laude) in Computer Science from Columbia University.

Vince joined Algebris in 2017 to support the US team with his experience covering and investing in the financial sector, across equity and credit.
Prior to Algebris, he was the financial analyst at a Miami-based long/short equity fund focused on investments within the U.S. and Latin America. Before that, he invested across the capital structure of financial companies globally at Serengeti Asset Management, a New York City-based multi-strategy hedge fund. Vince began his career on the sell side covering financials at Sanford Bernstein, where he was a member of teams consistently ranked #1 by Institutional Investor and Greenwich surveys.
Vince also served as an advisor to the U.S. Treasury on its TARP program and was also a Fellow at the U.S. State Department in the Office of the Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, advising on the post-conflict restructuring of South Sudan’s financial system.
Vince holds a BA (cum laude) in History from Amherst College.
Antonella Di Chio
Antonella joined Algebris in 2014 with a focus on the analysis of non-performing loan investment opportunities in Italy.
Prior to joining Algebris, she worked at an Italian family office (Holding Italiana Quattordicesima), where she was covering alternative investment strategies.
Antonella holds an MSc in Finance cum laude from Bocconi University, Milan.
An Italian native, she also speaks fluent English. Antonella is part of Young Leaders Community of the Council for the United States and Italy. In 2019 she was awarded as Young Investment Woman of the Year in the context of the Women In Investment Awards 2019 Italy organised by Investment Europe.
She has been a professional dancer for 15 years.
Gabriele joined Algebris in 2015 to drive our research into investment opportunities in non-performing loans. He lives in Italy and has significant experience in the domestic NPL sector.
Prior to joining Algebris, Gabriele had been a portfolio manager responsible for due diligence since 2009 for FARE NPL, a leading Italian NPL management firm with over €1.3bn assets under management. Between 2007 and 2009, he worked for Pirelli Real Estate SpA reviewing the performance of four different portfolios with assets totaling €5bn and participating in the due diligence for €1bn of investments in equity and distressed assets.
Gabriele began his career at Archon (part of the Goldman Sachs Group) after graduating in 2005 with a degree in Industrial Engineering from Roma Tor Vergata University.
Gabriele lives in Rome with his wife and two children. He previously was a lifeguard and in his free time, he enjoys to go to the sea.
Gianluca joined the Algebris NPL team in 2016.
Earlier in his career, he worked in
Deutsche Bank in London for almost two years in the credit sales department,
covering some of the main Italian institutional investors and focusing on
Gianluca holds a Master of Science in Finance cum laude from Bocconi University in Milan. He played basketball for 11 years and has won a youth regional championship. He also enjoys skiing and cooking, particularly Italian food.
Guido joined Algebris NPL team in 2016 first as Intern and later on as analyst. Prior to joining Algebris, he worked at KPMG Advisory in the Financial Advisory department, covering debt and equity restructuring.
Guido has obtained an MSc in Finance from Bocconi University. In addition, he holds a BA (Hons) in International Economics, Management and Finance cum laude from Bocconi University in Milan.
Italian native, Guido speaks fluent English and Spanish.
Jacopo joined Algebris in 2017.
Previously, he worked at JP Morgan Investment Bank within the Credit department in London with a focus on corporate clients predominantly from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Iberia.
Jacopo holds a Master of Science in Management cum Laude from Bocconi University and a Master in Banking and Finance from St. Gallen University.
Jacopo was a professional Alpine-Ski athlete, participating in the Regional Cup. He holds the Ski instructor license.
Maria Sole Bozzi
Maria Sole joined Algebris Investment Team in 2018, where she is also Chief of Staff to Group CEO, Davide Serra. Having obtained a First Class degree in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, she is now studying to become CFA charter holder.
Since high school, Maria Sole has been volunteering with children affected by leukemia. In her free time she loves skiing and kite-surfing, she is also very passionate about golf and has attended several championships at national level.
