Since the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, Algebris has committed to supporting Milan, one of the cities most affected by the virus.
Algebris donated €500,000 to two hospitals in Milan, Luigi Sacco and Policlinico di Milano. The funds will be used to purchase technical equipment and to increase the hospitals’ capacity to treat patients with the virus.
The firm also donated 5,000 FFP2 masks to these two hospitals and to the municipalities of Milan and Bergamo, the latter being one of the worst affected regions of Italy. Both donations were made in partnership with Sigmar Gabriel, ex Minister for Foreign Affairs and Vice-Chancellor of Germany, who is also part of The Algebris Policy & Research Forum.
Algebris is proud to have supported the communities and areas most affected by the coronavirus pandemic. We believe that this important act of solidarity demonstrates that with a communal effort even the most serious issues can be overcome.
